26A-Failure
A time that I failed this semester was my financial
accounting class. I ended up having to drop it by the second test and I knew
that it would be risking it to try an push for the C which would have not been
easy. I tried different study methods, attending lectures, and taking notes but
I just did not get it. After a while discover study edge which greatly helped
but did not cut it. I will now have to take it again hopefully not at UF where
it is very difficult.
I felt like
a failure, called mentors, friends, and my mom but then I realized something.
Half the things we learn in college is shit we will never use and I am not
going to let a class which has almost nothing to do with my future define me
and my ability. I do not want to hammer people who want to do accounting but
that is not for me. I am a leader and a very social person who would not
benefit from sitting in front of a computer screen looking at numbers when there
are countless technologies that will handle the books for my small business. I
refuse to believe that accounting will stop my endeavors. Every time I go somewhere
and see new people I always extend my network and that is what business is
sometimes.
After seeing
Kevin O’leary walk up stage and tell us that the things we learn in college
will barley be a of use, but it is the people we meet that will help us to
thrive. I am a freshman and I have added 50 numbers to my contact list. With
that said, my failure may have been one that is hard I am brushing it off like tripping
in front of a group of people…just start doing push ups.
