18A Avatar

My customer is one that enjoys gardening, very healthy and most likely vegetarian/vegan, and is pretty trendy given they are purchasing technology that allows the to grow their own food in their home. That means they are aware of what they put in there bodies which may mean they are conscious of the environment. They are also probably more healthy and fit than the average person who consumes a ton of McDonalds (I eat a ton of fast food so no judgment and I am not vegetarian).
What kind of hobbies does your customer have?
I feel like my customer would most likely be into yoga or vegan cooking. I think that they might I feel like because my customer is most likely healthy they might enjoy working out. I also feel like they may be cultured in various ways because lots of my friends with different religions or from places are vegetarian.
What kind of car do they tend to drive? (What color is it?)
This is already an assignment full of stereotypes but they may drive a Prius, mini van, electric car, or some sort of hybrid. The colors may be neutral like light greens, redish oranges, silver, and black (etc).
What TV shows do they watch?
They might watch morning talk shows like Rachel Ray, they may watch social documentaries, and they may not watch adult cartoons that constantly bash people who are vegans and/or ecofriendly.
Do they have children?
Some may have children that are older giving them more free time, others may have small children but have a two-parent house hold so they could manage garden, or they may be young with no children so they can easily manage the garden which really should not take that much time.
Are any of them adopted?
Due to the fact that they are most likely eco-friendly and possibly vegetarian they may be up to date with the current needs of the world. This leads to believe that they could have some adopted children because they are concerned with the tons of children in foster care and orphanages.
What are their favorite books, and who are their favorite politicians?
I that they would tend to be more democratic given they may not support the death of animals, which means they might not hunt, and hunting is something that is popular down south where more people tend to be more conservative. They most likely have a lot of books and articles involving going green.
How old are they?
They are probably in their twenties from their forties.
How old do they feel?
They most likely feel younger than they are which could attribute to their very healthy life style. Similar to people giving up to gluten for two days and automatically proclaiming that they feel like a new person. This is not a roast but that is a very short time period.
After you have created this customer avatar, I'd like you to answer this final set of questions:

What do you have in common with the customer avatar?
I may not have a ton in common with my customer in reality because I am young male who consumes a ton of protein, uses a lot of straws, own guns, and I eat terribly with fast food all the time. Mentally though I believe that humans should be fighting to save our world. We rely on so many other countries to provide us vegetables and some of which use unfair labor practices to farm this food. I also don’t believe that large stock houses where chickens are pumped with enough steroids until their legs break from the unnatural weight of their body. We pollute our world because humans are not advanced enough to understand what is good for themselves and for all of society. If they did we would not be able to get a fake burger that is less than two dollars while a salad is 8 dollars. We would stop unnecessary plastic manufacture and not through trash out of our windows at stop lights. We would develop an electric mode of public transportation and stop using as much cars. Unfortunately, this is not a world that people want for themselves right now and I will be on my death bed most likely before it happens. We may have things in common because we are more educated. I did not grow up with any sort of agenda pushed on me. My family hardly voted and no religion and were poor. So I chose things that made sense after learning enough information.

  1. Hi Christopher,
First of all, I just wanted to say that I'm really impressed about how much effort and detail you put into this assignment. It is obvious you can clearly visualize your prototypical customer which is very important throughout the entrepreneurial process. I also thought it was interesting that you don't necessarily have much in common with your customers, yet you share similar beliefs about saving the world. Great job on this assignment.

  2. Hello Chris,
I think you did a great job by digging deep in the characteristics of your prototypical customer. You were able to describe them to the point where I could picture how they would look like. It was impressive how you were able to detail what you and you customer have in common and what is different, which is quite important too. You have potential to increase your customer base since "green" and sustainable people and trends are increasing everyday. However, I would suggest you to at least mention again what is it that you are offering to people, since you changed your idea from the begging of the semester. It would be a good idea to refresh their memory.
Great job overall, and keep it up.
