20A-Growing your network

1) Who they are and what their background is.
Carl Dawson is a commercial real estate agent who runs his own company. He also is very knowledgeable in insurance. He is a domain expert. The second person is market expert which is Tom, a broker. The last is Mr. Porter who works at a large commercial real estate company.

2) Which 'slot' you are filling with each person (i.e., domain expert, market expert, supplier), and how the person fills the spot.
Carl: Domain Expert
Tom: Market Expert
Mr. Porter: Supplier

3) A description of how you found the person and contacted the person.
I met all three lifeguarding at a country club and got all of their number the summer before going to college.

4) The nature of the exchange you have with the person -- what favor did they do for you? What is the return expectation?
I call Carl and Tom every other month to get advice about school because they both have children at UF and FSU and my family has no experience at large university.

5) How will including this person in your network enhance your ability to exploit an opportunity?
In my career I will need to need my reach out to gain advice and guidance especially in the field of real estate where decisions can be very risky. Proper tips from people who have been in all of these positions is very important.

Finally: Reflect. This experience requires you to do a little 'targeted networking.' How will this experience shape how you participate in any future networking events? Did this experience differ from your networking experiences in the past? How?
This experiences was great because these are actually people I get mentored from and one of the key pieces they give me that is very important is to get know everyone you meet because you don’t know how they will affect your life in the future. This experience was very similar to my networking in the past.
