21A
1) What was the general theme
or argument of the book?
The
general theme of the book is that you can persevere in the face of numerous
obstacles. She used her drive ad the ability to sell to get her foot in the door
small time and then end up highly successful as an entrepreneurship.
2)
How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what
you are learning in ENT 3003?
The
biggest thing that I connected with that I learned in this class is the ability
to pitch your idea. When she got her first big break, she had to sell encyclopedias.
She was given 10 sets to sell within three months and she did it in a day in a
half.
3) If you had to design an
exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise
involve?
If
I were to design an activity I would students will have to work on different sales
tactics to sell a simple item.
4)
What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the
book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your
expectations?
My
biggest aha moment when I read about how she was training employees at a company
who within months would be making twice her salary. So she went on to do what she
wanted to do resulting in her great success.

Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteThis assignment was meant to be on the entrepreneurial concepts books, not the biographies, but nevertheless, you did a good job. I also read the Mary K Ash story and loved it. She was a spectacle of a woman, but an amazing motivator which is why her business did so well. She was able to captivate people which is so valuable as a salesperson.
